pronunciation of “fish” is the same as “affluence” in Chinese.It is due to this

during the Spring Festival. Legend has it that the symbolic meaning of fish
originates from traditional Chinese culture.There is a tradition of thrift among
the Chinese，consequently，they consider the more they save，the securer they feel.
Nowadays，although the living standards of the Chinese have increasingly
improved，they still regard thrift as a praiseworthy virtue.
